The Trip of a Life Time
I would do it again
Rick somehow managed to dive down about 8 feet with a PFD on.
Snorkeling off the coast from a nuclear  power plant
Night time wandering provides a new perspective
on TNNUA.

This is just outside of my room.

I never would have stopped to look at this flower during
the day because it was way to hot outside.
Capturing the movement of the palm trees

I walked across this bridge multiple times a day.

The night sounds are very different
from day sounds.  It seems as if everything
is alive in Taiwan.

The walkway up to the 7Eleven  is another
path that I used most days because it was the
fastest way to get food.

It is a little hard to believe that this is where I lived
for a couple of weeks.  It is an amazing place.

This picture shows somethings that I think are just absolutely amazing
about Taiwan.  Just off walking trail is a jungle so thick
that you cant even walk through because the brush and
bamboo is to thick.  I wanted to wander through jungle but it didn't
seem like locals did so I thought there might be a reason.

The amount of wood it takes to fire a wood kiln
is incredible.

The first wood kiln I have ever seen.
Everything grows together.
Boats are home maid.
There is so much beauty everywhere.
Thunderstorms are impressive.  There were flashes of
light from the lightning in every direction that I looked.

I wanted to explore this lake a lot!
This is the stuff that I really wish we could have done
because it would have been way different from anything
that I have ever seen before.
A local artists work.  These are the biggest
single pieces of ceramic that I have ever seen.
The kiln that he uses to fire these pieces
is huge.

Attention to the small things

Looking up through the roof of the tree house.
Nature takes back its land very fast.

Tainan at night.
I never felt uncomfortable here like I normally do in bigger
cities.

I made a lot of new work.
Work that is very different from what I
have done before.

I felt a need to make work that had
a nature feeling.  I wanted it to look
more organic, less machined,
and more free.

I found this building in the Sad City.
A lot the buildings have become overgrown with
plants.
Everything is green even the brick walls.

The detail in the sculptures on the roofs of the temples are exquisite.
I enjoyed being in Taiwan.  It was the first time that I have been outside of states.  I was a little surprised at how similar a lot of things were to the U.S.A., but at the same time everything was very different.  Everyone was willing to help us with everything such as ordering food and finding our way around the cities.  The amount of comfort that I felt in Taipei was way different from any other big city that I have ever been in.  I would never feel as safe in New York as I did in Taipei.  The night markets were fun, it was like a state fair atmosphere.  The most interesting thing about the whole trip for me was that I didn't feel out of place.  The reason might be because of where I grew up.  I'm used to sticking out when in a crowd.  I didn't feel like there was too much of a language barrier because a lot of people spoke english.  I want to go back to Taiwan some day and explore everything that I didn't get to see.
The food was great.  Lots of rice, chicken, pork, beef, tofu, fish, and delicious goodness.
